Census Report 2016 – Open: June 27 – Due: July 10
The Census for the 2016 year is now available. The School District Census Report provides the Department of Education with a count of children ages 5 - 18 that reside in a school district as of June 30. Instructions are available through a link at the top of the Census Collection. Audit window open from July 11 to July 20 for any corrections. 

Consolidated Data Collection (CDC) - Audit Window Close Date - June 30
The following Consolidated Data Collection (CDC) collection are now open. They are due June 15. Audit Window Close Date: June 30 * Annual Participation Report * Days in Session/Instructional Program Hours * ESU/District/System/School Information Report * Nonpublic High School Completer Report * Pupil Transportation Report * Report of Suspensions/Expulsions * State of Schools Report * Substitute Teacher Report 

LC-2 - 2016-17 is now Available
The Budget Form LC-2 - Open: June 15 - Due: September 20. The LC-2 must be submitted by all public school districts. Contact Janice Eret (402-471-2248) or Bill Biven (402-471-0526) in School Finance & Organization Services if you have questions. 

Special Education Discipline Report - Audit Window Close Date: June 30
Report of Children with Disabilities Unilaterally Removed to an Interim Alternate Setting or Suspended or Expected opened May 1. The report is due June 16 and must be submitted by all public and state operated schools. It is collected in the NDE Portal under the Data Collections tab. Directions as well as a template for using the upload option have been posted to the site. Contact: John Marcucci (402-595-1639 or john.marcucci@nebraska.gov) 

SPED Proportionate Share Worksheet for NonPublic Schools - Due Date: July 31
All public school districts (including districts that do NOT have approved/accredited nonpublic schools or exempt home school located within their district's jurisdiction) are required by the IDEA to complete and submit the 2016-2017 IDEA Proportionate Share application. For additional information refer to NDE Technical Assistance Document "Special Education Services to Children with Disabilities (age 3-21) Enrolled by their Parents in Nonpublic Schools" located at https://www.education.ne.gov/sped/technicalassist/ServicesNonpublicSchools.pdf. Contact Rita Hammitt (402-595-2092) or Pete Biaggio (402-471-4308) in the Special Education office if you have any questions. 

The GMS is no longer in the Portal
Beginning April 26, 2016, the Grants Management System was moved out of the portal and can now be accessed at a new URL. Click the read more link and bookmark the url after arriving at the single sign on login page. Information was sent to all users registered in the GMS on April 26th. The NDE Portal will still be utilized for the Data Collections and Student & Staff (NSSRS) collections.   read more...

District Administrators   

If you or any of your staff leave a District or a School, it is your responsibility to manage the access of your district personnel to any and all Data Collections, GMS, and Staff and Student Record Systems. The District Administrator needs to review the list of users within their district for the new school year, and remove users as needed.
